John Kavanagh is an Irish actor. He portrays The Seer and Pope Leo IV in the History Channel series Vikings.

Biography Edit

Kavanagh has acted on the stage, in over twenty films, and in numerous television programmes.

Kavanagh's awards include winning the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Actor in a Play in 1989.

Kavanagh collaborated as vocalist with Paul Brady on the record The Green Crow Caws, a musical celebration of the words of Seán O'Casey.

Kavanagh's most notable roles are as Craig in Mel Gibson's Braveheart, Parmenion in Oliver Stone's Alexander and as Cardinal Campeggio in The Tudors also created by Michael Hirst.
